38 mm ref 2499

Someone say 38 mm?☺ Well, here is an entirely different 38 mm from the Laureato. Cushion case with a domed sapphire crystal to see the gullioche dial. (Look at the "SWISS MADE" text at 6 o'clock and you can see the some effect. What's the date today? I ha

Yes. I have a few of the cushion case

All were made under the auspices of Gino Macaluso. Circa 1999 to 2005. “Vintage 1960” was the initial name for the ref 2598. It was later changed to “Vintage 1970”. This is because it was determined that it was more apt as GP made some more cushion cases

Thanks 🙏🏻

IMHO, The bracelet is a big part of a watch. It’s sets the overall composure and has to complement the case structure. Perhaps much like a frame is to art 🖼️. The 2499 design exhibits the massive amount of effort put into the minuscule details of bracelet

Circa 120 made of the 2499 black dial

Of which, how many made with the Khanjar for the sultan of Oman is unknown. There is a silver dial variant as well of which 180 examples were made. Both have a guiloche dial. Here are more pics of both. 🤝

On the wrist …. My 38 mm NEO-vintage cushion case GP 2499 chronograph

Made in 2005 under the Macaluso ownership of GP. Not seen very often. Especially with the bracelet. 🫶🏼

GP ref 2499 silver dial

On the wrist today … My GP ref 2499 chronograph with the guilloche wave dial that is framed by a high polish thin bezel. GP calibre 022C0. At 38 mm it’s not over-bearing and yet it has a presence that says …. come take a closer look. Only 180 of these mad
